This came up in my feed. Clicked on it just to view it as we purchased it for our daughter in 2018. 4 years of play, love and many more dolls added it’s still in wonderful condition. She has parted with many toys over the year but this has to stay! Well worth the money.Sister in law loved this a a gift a year later is still good and standingThis is the most spectacular girls' toy I've ever personally experienced. Every morning it puts a huge smile not just on my kid's face, on mine too!Let me preface this by saying I am an anal, super-picky mom who prefers Grimm's (made in Germany), Camden Rose's (made in the USA), and Plan Toys' (made in Thailand) solid wood toys, hand-carved kitchen play sets etc. and Green Toys' (made in the USA) BPA/phthalate-free recycled plastic toys. I have also seen the whole gamut of solid wood, artisanal dollhouses. So initially I was hesitant to buy this dollhouse, which is made partly from MDF and plastic, though it also features solid wood. But boy have I been impressed by this Kidkraft castle.Took hubby about 4hrs to build it, he was meticulous and took his time, at some points deploying his power drill. All but one of the pieces fit as they were supposed to; the upper staircase took a bit of wrangling but was screwed into place just fine and looks fantastic. The instructions were clear enough and none were missing. The end result, a 5ft tall castle with a strikingly photogenic clock tower attic, is sturdy, gorgeous, and magical beyond both my and our kid's wildest dreams for a Disney dollhouse. No problems with the attic doors, which appear to have been recently redesigned (?) with better support so that they don't break off the hinges, unlike the earlier version of the attic doors photographed in some of the earlier reviews here. However, in an abundance of caution, I've instructed our kid never to snap the attic doors shut so that we leave them easier to open each time. No issue of flimsy staircases either; the lower staircase can get detached from its ledge if you play VERY roughly with it but why would you play THAT roughly with it? And no biggie, just clip it back on and it stays on quite firmly. This dollhouse fits all the Disney Classic Dolls as well as Barbies. It has fueled hours and hours of nonstop imaginative narrative. The painted details in each room and even on the exterior sides of the castle are so plentiful and well-illustrated that you and your kid could easily lose yourselves into another world. The plexiglass skylight over the attic is a particularly nice, "high-end" architectural touch if you will. Props to KidKraft for staying away from most shades of pink -- glad to see a predominantly NON-pink dollhouse for once! I highly recommend it to any doll/ dollhouse/ Disney lover, whether young or young-at-heart.There's always room for improvement, though. My design suggestions to KidKraft: (1) Make the balcony railing outside the master bedroom higher and therefore much more realistic. That way dolls leaning over the balcony railing won't fall off. It's odd that the balcony railing is so low, given the expected 11"-12" dolls occupying this castle. (2) Add a staircase or elevator from the 3rd floor to the attic floor. The attic, with its skylight, is such a magical space that it deserves an equally magical access point like a staircase spiraling up from the 3rd floor balcony. (3) The green "tile" floor of the kitchen is an odd color & materials choice and looks out of place. Strongly suggest changing to a cobblestone floor look or even a hardwood floor look, in keeping with medieval castle interiors. (4) How about adding a full partition wall with a doorway between the kitchen and bathroom, to enhance the realism of a private bathroom especially since there's a bathtub? (5) Please make some more medieval castle-inspired furniture to fill up the interiors. Would have loved to see a formal dining table & chair set for example. A dollhouse this spectacular deserves more plentiful accessories and furniture.4 hrs to assemble. Heads up there are a lot of screws waiting to be misaligned and there color coated to match wall imagery but there was no heads up so either I missed this warning or there is none. It’s a good size for my daughters barbi size dolls. This thing particle board so if your screw goes off a little the wood chips and tares the imagery. So towards the end of the 4 building session, my daughter the little helper fellAsleep it took so long to build it on her b day. ( if I was to do it again I think she would have enjoyed it if I built it first then surprised her). I come to realize I’m missing the chandelier. I looked and I know it wasn’t in the box. So if your reading this kidkraft you guys owe my daughter a Disney sleeping beauty chandelier. Double check the parts! And color on the screws half way threw it I realized this. Pro: the pieces are pre drilled for easy alignment during assembly. Con: there a lot of screwed! I used a small cordless drill I got for 10$ at harbor freight thank goodness it’s important because your hands will get tired, I promise. Over all it’s nice and durable and sturdy and heavy and a pain in the butT to build. Pro: it’s better than a cheapPlastic house I was avoiding. My daughter is 4 and beginning to express her imagination this is the perfect home for her to imagine and play her her dolls. And it’s large enough for her to grow with.It took me about 2 hours to put this together, completely (including the furniture, etc.). The hardware that came with the dollhouse was incredibly organized (I wish all hardware came like this) and the instructions were very easy to follow. It's also larger than expected, which is great! Make sure you check the box twice to make sure you get out ALL of the pieces before discarding - there are some smaller pieces of wood loose in the box. I really have no negatives, it's an awesome buy and I feel the price ($165 at time of purchase) is less than what it could probably be sold at - I'd pay up to $200 for it.I purchased this doll house for my daughter bday back in March. I had her wait for us to move before we opened it. She waited for a month and a half. We finally opened it up on a Thursday night and after organizing all the parts, I realized it came with no Hardware. It really broke my heart because she had waited sooo long. I called kids Kraft the next morning. I spoke to someone immediately. She ordered the parts to be sent out via expedite. Because of The Weekend, we received it Monday as told. It took me about an hour and half to build it. It was great quality and durable as for as the way it was meant to be constructed. This is the third Doll house I have ordered from kids Kraft. The first one lasted for years, the second was beautiful but a bit clumsy and not to my surprise ending up breaking during the move. This one seems long lasting. Either way, my kids LOVE it and it makes them so happy. This isnt the first and won’t be our last dollhouse. My 4 year old loves this castle. It did take my husband a while to put together however the end product is beautiful - every little girl who loves Disney princesses will love this. For the price you pay, you would expect better quality. Falling apart already after just 2 weeks and a very careful 5 year old owner. Certainly wouldn’t recommend. numerous marks in the decor, stairs constantly fall off. Splits in wood the list goes on. Terrible waste of money. I’ve also since seen it cheaper which makes it a very bitter purchase indeed. This is a beautiful doll's house and is extremely sturdy. My twins love playing with it. It took me around 2 and a half hours to build but that's because I wanted to take my time, and not make any mistakes, and i'm not used to flat pack building. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because the two turret sections didn't have their screw holes drilled in. They must have been missed on the production line. Thankfully i'm married to a carpenter who drilled the holes for me.Very large kids toy house. Good quality. Instructions are easy to follow. Made of wood, sturdy. Almost 5 feet tall. Not much accessories but the size means there are loads of other sites that sell them to fit this house. My 6 year old granddaughter loves it even though it’s bigger than her. Well worth the money. This dolls house is every little girls dream, it's magical. It takes a few hours to assemble but the end result is worth it. The quality of the house and furniture is outstanding. You really are paying for quality. It's breath taking. This is a gift for my daughters birthday and I know she is going to love it for many years.
